The Wee Hours

The older we get, the earlier our weekend mornings start. We try really hard to sleep in. In fact, it's a topic of conversation before bed. Nonetheless, one of us is wide awake long before daylight and so our morning begins. It's not a bad thing :: our local grocery store is open twenty-four hours. It's 8:00 am right now, and we've filled and washed the car, done our weekly grocery shopping, and put the final coat of paint on the Keeping Room ceiling (more on that later). And, we've had quite a few giggles along the way. You might remember me telling you that I have a reputation for being a bit alternative, mostly in the dietary department. Hubby, on the other hand, is a classic "meat and potato", "standard American diet" kind of guy. I was working in the kitchen this morning, storing my leftover sunflower seeds when hubby walked in. The dialogue went something like this:
***
Hubby: Watcha got there?
Me: Sunflower seeds.
Hubby: Oh good, something normal in my world of abnormality.
Me: They're raw and unsalted.
Both of Us: chuckle, chuckle.
***

I do love our weekends togther.

  1. All of that BEFORE 8? You're younger than me and I still haven't been bit by that get-up-early bug. Dh has always been a morning person, but I can sleep well past 8 if the cats let me ... and they do when dh is home.
