My quilt guild is participating in the 1 Million Pillowcase Project, sponsored by American Patchwork and Quilting. Yesterday a group of us gathered for a little friendship and a little sewing.
We set up sewing, ironing, and cutting stations and then got busy constructing as many pillowcases as we could in a four-hour period of time.
We used this method to construct some of the pillowcases (the finished product has no raw edges) and a serger to construct the others.
Five ladies, a few hours, a sprinkling of munchies, and fourteen completed pillowcases (seven still in progress). A great cause and a fun way to spend an afternoon.
