  2. Yes, that's a praying mantis. The flowers in the first photo are blooms on my garlic chives (love that plant - it always survives the winter) and the flower in the second photo is a "profusion white" zinnia. I plant these every year and they never disappoint. They are pretty compact plants that grow about 12" tall.

  4. LOL ... I'm laughing because I grow both and both are blooming right now. My inability to recognize them is a testament to your great photography skills! I agree that the Profusion zinnias are a wonderful little flower. No need to deadhead and they just keep on blooming. There's another similar variety called Zahara that I tried this year in addition to the Profusion.
