Sewing For Babies

I just finished my second Craft Hope project this morning. This one is about 27"x29", hopefully just about right for a receiving blanket.
I've had this fabric in my stash for a while. It's an Alexander Henry print that I think is simply adorable!
There's no batting between the layers - just the quilt top and flannel on the back. I sewed it right sides together and turned, and then just did a little edge and top stitching to hold everything in place. I have all of the fabric ready to make three more of these. The deadline is quickly approaching :: I'd better get busy!!

  1. I love that AH fabric! The colors look great together. What a great thing to do!

I have just gotten pieces to try to make my new daughter a quilt ('bedspread' is what my Mawmaw called the thin patchwork quilts she made for me). Do you have a tutorial or suggestions for where to find beginner info?

  2. Oh boy do I ever! I just added a tutorial category to my sidebar with a link to oh frannson's quilt-along. It is loaded with fantastic step-by-step information for making a quilt. If you'd like to send me your email address we can chat more about what you have in mind. I have some other ideas for a first/beginner's quilt.
